Warm Snuggles

Dash is learning to play with toys more and more each day. He is starting to play fetch with his bully sticks, but isn't playing fetch with his toys. He enjoys playing with his toys by himself.

After a long and exciting day of playing and being outside, Dash snuggled up in the blanket and slept the night away.

A Peek at Dash's Week

Dash has had a busy week! Here's what he's been up to...

Last Saturday we took Dash to Waukesha's Farmers Market. He seemed a little overwhelmed. Every dog that we passed he barked and growled. Perhaps a bit too much for him.

Dash likes to ride on the floor of the car
Dash also got a new dog bed. He *loves* it! Often, he will choose to just lie in his bed throughout the day and evening.

We gave Dash his first bath last week. We feared the worst, but Dash did great! He didn't seem to mind at all!

Almost done

Today, Dash and I spent the day outside enjoying the beautiful afternoon. Dash loved roaming the backyard.

One happy Dash

Dash - professional sleeper

Dash has slept in his big boy bed the past three nights! He woke up at his regular time this morning (5:00). Since it was the first day of my summer vacation, I put him in our bed where he slept for another two hours. Then we got up, ate, and went for a walk.

Since yesterday was the last day of school for me - Dash and I took a selfie! I think he's really excited to have me around *all* day for the next few weeks!

Dash looks beyond excited for summer vacation!

Cashed Dash...

Sunday and Monday night we chose to put Dash in his kennel at night. We want his forever family to decide where they want him to sleep. When we put him in his kennel he barks. On Sunday, he settled in after about five minutes, however, on Monday it was a different story. My hubby, Jordan, claimed dashed barked for a long time. Now, I'm not sure what that really means because I never heard him. Tuesday night, Jordan decided to let cashed Dash sleep in our bed...

Dash slept through the entire night. He woke up at 5:00 when my hubby got out of bed to get ready for work.

Tonight, we are going to try a doggie bed next to our human bed. I will keep you posted...

Getting to know Dash

Dash was a little overwhelmed on Sunday. When I woke up and let him out of his crate Monday morning he seemed to be much more relaxed.

Dash after our morning walk

This cute little peanut is a great eater. He has been scarfing down his food since Monday morning! He has been a breeze to walk. Just scampers from place to place and takes care of his business right away.

While I get ready in the morning, Dash kind of does his own thing. He explores a little, comes and visits me, then continues to explore. He has been coming when we call him. He also responds to kissing noises :)

If you pet Dash, he flops over so he can have his belly scratched.

He's been much better about being picked up. I think he's even beginning to enjoy it! He's also great at taking pictures!

We are just *loving* this cute face!

Brining home Hadash aka "Dash"

Today we picked up Hadash - we are calling him Dash for short. When we picked him up we were told that he did growl at the ladies getting him out of his crate. They said it could be because he is stressed, but told us so that we were aware.

Dash rode in the car well and welcomed himself into our home. He spent quite a bit of time exploring the space and rolling around on our carpets. He didn't love getting picked up - he does a spread eagle on the ground when you try. When we did pick him up he began to shake.

Dash isn't too sure about being held yet
Dash raised his leg in our house after we got him home and I told him no. He immediately stopped and put his leg down. I took him outside and he took care of his business right away. We rewarded him with a treat.

After that, Dash just kept exploring. He would jump on the couch and snuggle for a few minutes, but then would go lie down somewhere else. He even went in his crate all by himself while we were watching TV - good dog!

*So* stinkin' cute!

Dash was tired and went to sleep in his crate all by himself
It's been a long and stressful few days for Dash. We are excited to see him in the morning!
