Dobbs the Delectable Dog

Dobbs has come along way over the past week! Walter and Dobbs have become close friends and even share a bed while they sleep!

Dobbs has become quite the walker on the leash. He likes when Walter takes the lead, but Dobbs follows closely behind!

Dobbs has become very close to my husband, Jordan, and has begun to follow him around the house. He also has become a little snuggle bug with him :)

The other day Dobbs was so excited when Jordan came home from work he stuck his cute little nose under the bottom of the fence to let Jordan know that he was ready for him to open the gate!

Meet Dobbs!

After a few months off, my husband and I decided to foster again this summer. We currently have an almost 2-year-old Silkyhuahua (a silky-haired terrier and Chihuahua) named Walter and thought it would be good for him to have a friend. Plus we missed fostering... so we picked up Dobbs last week Tuesday fresh off the van.

Dobbs was very nervous when he arrived at our house. Initially, he wouldn't walk up the stairs or walk across hardwood floors. Dobbs spent the first night just pacing back and forth on the dining room or kitchen rug. He was curious when the TV was turned on and peered into the living room, but didn't dare leave the rugs.

On Wednesday I decided to put the dogs in the backyard and see how Dobbs enjoyed being outside. At first Dobbs did not want to go on the grass, but once he saw Walter on the grass he decided it was okay.

Although he does go on the grass, he prefers being on the concrete and being in the shade under the cars!

Walter and Dobbs are getting more acclimated with one another and become better friends. They are playing together often and are even willing to sleep near one another.

He also loves to snuggle in the dog bed!

Dobbs does not enjoy being walked on the leash, but he is getting much better. We have been walking both dogs together and Walter has been showing Dobbs how to walk on the leash. Dobbs still stops every once and a while and sits in the grass or on the sidewalk, but that is happening less and less.

He had a few accidents the first day inside, but he now taking care of his business outside. He is now walking up and down the stairs, across the hardwoods and on the tile in the bathroom.
