Benji's Weekend Adventures

Benji snuggled with us on Friday night. Snuggling is one of his favorite pastimes.

On Saturday we had two weddings, so we dropped off Benji with my in-laws and he had a doggy playdate! Since he just had his "procedure" on Tuesday he had to stay on a leash. He he had a blast!

He also hung out in the grass while my father-in-law washed the cars.

Benji was extremely tuckered out by the end of his playdate and rested his body at my in-laws.

Sunday morning Benji was full of snuggles. He joined us in our bed and snuggled with me for a few minutes.

We then headed outside and Benji took care of his business. I was working in the other room while Benji pulled out his toys of the basket!

Benji also joined me while I worked on homework early Sunday morning. Did I mention that he *loves* to snuggle?!?

Benji has really come out of his shell throughout the week. He wants to play, snuggle, is now eating twice a day, doing stairs on his own, and becoming a pro walker!

A Peek at Beni's (Connor's) Week

Benji (Connor on the site) has had a very busy week. When he arrived he seemed fairly comfortable with us and our home, but we quickly found out there were a few things Benji was afraid of...

1. The kitchen. Maybe all of the noises?

Sticking to his home base in the kitchen
2. The stairs. Just not his thing.

Practicing on the stairs (pardon the mess, we are working on remodeling the back stairwell)
3. Walking up the driveway - he throws himself down to the center of gravity.

Update: after a few days Benji become more comfortable with both the stairs and the kitchen! He is even doing the stairs that lead to the second floor on his own! We are still working on walking up the driveway.

Benji was also fixed on Tuesday. He came home and slept. And slept. And slept.

It was a long day
On Friday Benji decided he was ready to become completely comfortable with our home. He ran to the front door and barked at other dogs that passed, he snuggled on the couch, and snuggled in his bed.
Snuggling

Keeping an eye on the neighbors

Too much excitement for the day
Benji has not had a single accident in our home. He is starting to eating more consistently. He's a really fun and sweet dog... and check out his adorable ears...

I love how they just flop over!

Meet Connor!

Mae was adopted by Stephanie yesterday. Mae is adjusting well and enjoying being in her "furever" home.

Today we picked up Connor. We are decided to call him Benji! Benji came right out to us when we picked him up with his tail wagging. He enjoyed the ride home and met Lexi through the fence when we got home. He simply looked and Lexi and wagged his tail, no barking!

When he got inside he explored the space and quickly settled in on the couch :) He seemed nervous at first, but that quickly passed and the tail began wagging again!

He also supervised chores!

He even discovered his reflection!

Although he was a little reluctant to go back outside to go potty once he settled in, he has had no accidents!

Meet Mae

Vin Gris was adopted by a lovely couple on Sunday afternoon! We are so excited that Vin Gris (Cookie) found her "furever" home!

After Cookie headed to her new home I headed to pick up our next foster, Mae. Mae has been through a lot. She needs patience, love, and time.

Mae ready to head home
Once she arrived home she quickly made her way to the couch. She has been there ever since.

I woke up early this morning unable to sleep. I decided to lay on our small couch in our living room. When I laid down Mae got off the big couch and approached me. She decided she needed the small couch. That is where we found her when we arrived home from work. We call it her new home base.

Mae's home base.
She spends her time sleeping. She has not had any accidents in the house. She will eat and drink a little if you bring the food/water to her.

She needs patience, time, and love.

The Perfect Dog

Honestly, Cookie is simply the best dog you will ever meet. She has had 0 accidents in the home since Sunday. We think she may have just been getting used to her new home. She loves other dogs. She loves EVERYONE. She is learning her name. She has almost mastered sit and paw. She plays. She snuggles. She has not barked or cried once. She's perfect!!!

Cookie gets a hug on her first play date!

Bringing Home Vin Gris...AKA Cookie!

Dash was adopted on Saturday! We are so happy that Dash found his furever home!

Today, we picked up our next foster, Vin Gris. We didn't feel that the named fit the Oreo colored dog so we decided to call her Cookie! She is just the sweetest dog you will ever meet. When we arrived to pick her up she ran up to us and gave us lots of kisses. She met several new dogs that day and sniffed them all and wagged her tail with excitement. One dog even nipped at her and Cookie did nothing!

We spent some time out side running around and playing with a tennis ball! After she was done, she laid on the concrete to cool down.

We took Cookie for a long walk and she seemed to really enjoy it. She spent a lot of time rolling around in the grass. She didn't take care of any of her business on the 30 minute walk. She did begin to tinkle in the house about 2 hours later. We took her back out and there she took care of all of her business. We are guessing she is not housebroken yet, but she is young and in a very new setting!

After a lot of playing and exploring Cookie decided to find a soft spot to nap!

See you tomorrow, Cookie!
